“The best part about art is making it.”
In this body of work I have blended my interest in the natural world with personal memories and histories, a love of French toile and the joy of making objects by hand.
I have always made work that reflects my personal responses to the state of things. Ideas of Utopias and imagined worlds seemed to connect on a deeper level when I was cleaning out my late mother’s home and found that she had kept a lot of my toys.
By employing traditional techniques like woodcut and casting I have been able to combine these memories with natural and found objects collected on walks we did together.
They work for me on a deep personal level and I hope that these works can connect with a wider audience.”
