ADOLF HITLER was thrown in jail for trying to overthrow the German government. While incarcerated he read the works of Henry Ford & adopted as his own Ford’s ideas on anti-Semitism & industry. He was even motivated to write his own book “Four Years Struggle Against Lies, Cowardice & Stupidity”, published as “Mein Kampf”. Released from prison, Hitler wasted no time in becoming Chancellor of Germany and putting his ideas into practice. While he never learned to drive himself, he though that the rest of (Aryan) Germany ought to, & demanded a volks-wagen, a German people’s car! Hitler had many ideas on the car, including the name “Kraft-Durch-Freude-Wagen” (Strength-Through-Joy-Car)& the shape (as he told designer Ferdinand Porsche) “it should look like a beetle!”
