Trajectories of light in a trance of red,
luminous
beginning to the spectrum; the sky's buzz
and dance of laden bees, all spin and
spiral.
Lanterns, rockets, Catherine wheels
steal their spark from fireflies,
from meteor showers,
that hot fizz of fireworks in our blood.
Dream: take flight on feather, fan, or
butterfly;
look inwards for the source of light
under sleeping skin or wide-eyed -
dark and bright sides; find the moon
in full lips and cheek curve. Light burns
in our body and floods the brain -
chemical, electrical; powder and fire;
imagination igniting the white
dark. Kathryn Lomer 2003 |
